I quite enjoy drinking a coffee and doing a little art. My favourite place for this is in Patisserie Valerie in Peterborough. This is what I drew last week before heading over to the Blok Collective Underpass Project at the local art gallery.
Curious Yellow Weekend was an opportunity to paint with a few friends and try something new. So I put away the cans, whipped out the brushes and came up with this.
Pleased with how it turned out because it was pretty similar to the original sletches...
Here are some shots from the day
At the Overground Arts Jam a few years ago I stretched my own canvas in one of the workshops they ran on the day. A year later I painted a rough background using spraypaint and wallpaper scrapers and a couple of days ago I drew some worms on it. All in all thats around 2 and a half years from start to finish. A typical example of my ability to finish artwork promptly. Anyway...here it is, not sure what to do with it yet...sell it raffle it
The Overground Arts Jam is one of my favourite art jams. It's in my hometown of Peterborough and it's at a great venue, The Green Backyard. What made this years event particularly symbolic is that the Green Backyard is under threat fom the city council. Despite being used by schools, people with learning disabilities, people with mental health problems, single parents, the elderly, the unemployed and many other community groups this unique urban greenspace is potentially going to be closed down. Do me a favour, jump over to the petition site and put your name down in support #SAVEGBY...
...and when you've done that take a look at my pictues fom the day. Most of which were taken by my 9 year old.
Unfortunately the event was rained off but before they threw everyone out this is what I got done...
This weekend I'll be painting at the Willow Festival with a few friends from Blok. It's the first live painting of 2012 so I'm nervous, not to mention I'll be painting alongside some top Peterborough talent. Not sure where exactly but if you look for big walls and follow the smell of aerosol paint you cant go wrong. I'll be there on the Saturday and maybe the Sunday too. Bring some cash if you want to buy some work.
Peterborough Embankment, Embankment Road, Peterborough PE1 1EF

I'm really excited about this. In collaboration with Vivacity and Blok Collective I've been given a lion to paint as part of Peterboroughs Olympic torch relay celebration. Keely Mills is doing some work with Vivacity staff to come up with the brief then it's over to me to paint...I cant wait.
A year in Peterborough just wouldn’t be the same without the spectacular Peterborough Festival. Brought to you by Vivacity, and supported by the Arts Council and Peterborough City Council, this year’s festival is set to be bigger and better than ever. I got to feature in the art zone with a few Blok Collective artists, check out the KORP ON TOUR page for all the photos.
Take a look at the new Overground site created by Free Thinking Design. This site is to promote Peterborough's live arts jam on the 16th July at the Green Backyard.
Best bit is I have my own page...
They're still looking for volunteers and artists, but be quick.
