Had a great time painting with some of Peterboroughs leading street artists at the 2012 Willow Festival. Here are some of the shots from the day.
Big thanks to The Willow Festival organisers and Blok Collective and Overground Arts for supplying the boards. This weekend I'll be painting at the Willow Festival with a few friends from Blok. It's the first live painting of 2012 so I'm nervous, not to mention I'll be painting alongside some top Peterborough talent. Not sure where exactly but if you look for big walls and follow the smell of aerosol paint you cant go wrong. I'll be there on the Saturday and maybe the Sunday too. Bring some cash if you want to buy some work.
Peterborough Embankment, Embankment Road, Peterborough PE1 1EF Entry is FREE Friday 25th May 4pm to 11pm. Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May 11am to 11pm. I'm really excited about this. In collaboration with Vivacity and Blok Collective I've been given a lion to paint as part of Peterboroughs Olympic torch relay celebration. Keely Mills is doing some work with Vivacity staff to come up with the brief then it's over to me to paint...I cant wait.
It's been a while so here is some free art for Peterborough...specifically located along my dog walking route in Hampton Vale. None of this work is mine, all of it was kindly donated for a free art event in the City Centre a while back.
It was the opening of the City Treasures exhibition at Harriets in Peterborough last night. It was very well attended which was down to Dawn Birch-James who perfectly organised the event. Plenty of Peterboroughs artistic talent was there, I got to speak to Process Smith (Blok Collective and Overground founder), Tony Nero (soon to be exhibiting in San Francisco), Luisa and Paco Calvo and Diane Nowell (Soon to be exhibiting in Florida). Looks like I'm not the only Peterborough artist that finds more opportunities abroad than in my home town. Step up Peebo.
Some shots below of the preview...I'll be honest, they are not my usual crowd. In fact one old boy asked me if they were my photos! I didn't tell him they were stencils. Just finished cutting 3 stencils for the City Treasures exhibition. These are of the building opposite St Johns church in the City Centre that used to be O'Neills, I like the curves...
Due to contractual reasons I can't show you the finished piece for the City Treasures exhibition. It has to be saved for the preview event on the 7th October. In the meantime here's a tiny piece of it for your viewing...
A sneaky look at a 5 layer stencil I'm about to spray for the City Treasures exhibition at Harriets in Peterborough. Tickets are now available for the preview at £6 each. Let me know if you want some.
The stencils below are the back end of Peterborough Cathedral. |
