Anyway this bottle is based on a Pink Floyd lyric that goes "The pie in the sky turned out to be miles too high" which to me sounds like a reference to God and is certainly how I'm feeling at the moment. As usual it is for sale and it's only the second bottle I've painted (the first one was for Head Hairdressing in South Sea which I don't think I've ever blogged about). Hope you like it, Tweet and share if you do. Thanks.
I did an animated GIF of this bottle a few weeks ago but in order to get in on Instagram I needed a photo of it so I launched the Moldiv app. The app store is full of collage apps but Moldiv is the best one I've found. It has lots of free templates and cool fonts so you don't have to spend money to make your collages look good.

Usually I like to get to a paint jam not knowing what I'm going to paint. I have a list of default characters and techniques that I use depending on how I feel on the day. The reason I do this is because a couple of years ago I turned up at Upfest with a giant stencil that had taken 90 hours to cut but because of the wind and rain I never had a chance to put it up. This was highly demotivating and I struggled for the rest of the day with what to paint. In the end I went with a simple character that I'd drawn years ago (that was exhibited and sold at Canary Wharf), you can check the photos here but as days out painting go it was a bit of a let down. Anyway I figured I need to get some ideas down on paper for City of Colours so I can hit the ground running (rather than turning up and staring at a big white board for an hour). Here is what I've come up with so far...let me know if I've over done it.
I've been working hard over the last few days to give my website a little make over. New stuff includes some donate buttons for Paypal and Bitcoin in case anyone feels like patronising me. A store page so you can browse and buy directly from me which involved a lot of work in the background to get the structure, payment details, shipping details, returns policies in place but it's all done now so I can start adding products which I promise I'll do soon.
Big thanks to Adam Reeves for taking a great photo of me for the website banner, why not give him a follow on Flickr. I quite enjoy drinking a coffee and doing a little art. My favourite place for this is in Patisserie Valerie in Peterborough. This is what I drew last week before heading over to the Blok Collective Underpass Project at the local art gallery.
Just experimenting with a few ideas to keep the worms interesting, this one looks a little too much like a wizard casting a spell but aside from that I think arms suit worms. I use small pieces of card to pump up my Posca pens and get them inked up and ready to use. Rather than waste the card I thought I'd draw a little worm on it. This one is loosely based on a Lee Mason skatedeck that looks awesome.
A couple of friends dropped some of my work in San Francisco last week for Free Art Friday. I got these brilliant pictures. 2014 has seen a good start to the sketchbook. Gonna collaborate with Miss Wah on one of these books (I think she likes my cactus)...although after counting 10 metres of paper in one book I'm thinking I've bitten off more than I can chew. Anyway here are some shots of the sketchbook in progress...all done with Posca and Sharpies.
Still drawing on these cardboard bricks, they're a nice handy size and take Posca ink well. Some of these are for Free Art Friday gigs in Walsall and Cheltenham. Need to get them posted asap and move on to the next project.
