I remember years ago when me and some of the guys from Blok Collective first starting talking about how great it would be if we cold have an event like Upfest here in Peterborough. 4 years later and its going from strength to strenght. As well as some amazing local talent Overground also attract some of the big names on the street art circuit. |
This year I turned up not knowing what I wanted to paint and it seemed a lot of other artists did the same which lends itself really nicely to the idea of it being a paint jam. Here are a couple of shots of me making it up as I go along. Its always great to paint in your hometown, and this year at Overground was no exception. Of course nothing happens by itself so a big thankyou has to go out to the organisers and volunteers who helped put on a great event. So that was Overground 2013, the best one so far. Too many great artists to mention but particular faves this year were of course id-iom who never fail to entertain, Parlez who had was finishing pieces while we were discussing where to start and Wah who taught me how to paint in the middle of the canvas (and left me her Posca hoody). Let me leave you with this photograph from Matthew Niemc just because I like it.
