Usually I like to get to a paint jam not knowing what I'm going to paint. I have a list of default characters and techniques that I use depending on how I feel on the day. The reason I do this is because a couple of years ago I turned up at Upfest with a giant stencil that had taken 90 hours to cut but because of the wind and rain I never had a chance to put it up. This was highly demotivating and I struggled for the rest of the day with what to paint. In the end I went with a simple character that I'd drawn years ago (that was exhibited and sold at Canary Wharf), you can check the photos here but as days out painting go it was a bit of a let down. Anyway I figured I need to get some ideas down on paper for City of Colours so I can hit the ground running (rather than turning up and staring at a big white board for an hour). Here is what I've come up with so far...let me know if I've over done it.
