Art is therapy to me. Instead of telling someone they are full of ##it I will draw it. This is for all those people you know who tell you one thing then go do another. It doesn't make them bad, just full of ##it. Rather than upset any delicate art lovers out there I decided to put a little sticker on it. An idea I nabbed from someone I met at the Gloucester Paint Jam a few weeks ago and has since become one of my favourite artists, you should check out Skeleton Cardboard. I've added a few 'in progress' shots cus I know you guys like them. Share, like and Tweet if you can, I'd really appreciate it and if you haven't already please sign up for my newsletter.
I've been working hard this weekend to get a big canvas finished. The inspiration for this canvas is from Hebrews 13:5 which reads...
Now I'm not believer but I do enjoy adding a religious context to my work and the quote above stood out to me which is why I decided to use it. Read on for the process I went through to create this new piece of art and to understand more about what it means to me. Usually my work involves cynical messages in the background however a friend convinced me to do something positive and maybe use bible text. With the backgrounds I do I start with a light grey and write large letters, these letters slowly get darker and smaller. Starting with the big letters this seemed the most obvious way to start.
I'm pleased with how it's turned out. The smooth worm and the deep reds add a nice high quality finish.
Now available in the Korp store. Three new worms have just been added to the Korp store but be quick, one has already sold.
